What is Hydrating Mist?
Our Hydrating Mist is pure, natural, 100% farm grown lavandula angustifolia lavender hydrosol. Hydrosols are a well known face care staple, and lavender hydrosol is one of the most sought after. In fact, lavender hydrosol is the foundation for our Lavender Botanical Skincare line!
What is hydrosol?
Hydrosols (sometimes referred to as “flower water”) are the natural byproduct of steam distillation (read our blog about it here). They are an excellent, natural way to hydrate, tone, and balance your skin’s PH. They also “feed your skin” with plant nutrients and essential compounds.
Why is lavender hydrosol good for face care?
In addition to feeding, hydrating, and toning your skin, lavender hydrosol boasts the same relaxing, anti-inflammatory, gently antiseptic properties of lavender essential oil. However, it only has only very small, trace quantities of lavender essential oil. Because it is not as concentrated, it can be applied more frequently and generously without fear of irritation. This makes it an excellent choice for face care!
Where do you get your hydrosol?
We distill all of our hydrosol from our plants, grown at our farm. It is 100% natural with no additives or preservatives. Our Lavender Botanical Hydrating Mist uses only hydrosol from lavandula angustifolia plants. This means that it is gentler on the skin than hydrosol from the more camphorous and antiseptic lavandula intermedia species.
How do I use it?
Mist the entire face after toning and again after moisturizing, and throughout the day, for extra hydration. Use as much as desired. For those with skin irritation to Witch Hazel, use this instead of the Lavender Botanical Toner.
