Lavender Botanical Skincare
We are so excited to introduce our new product line Lavender Botanical Skincare! If you haven’t already, check out our blog about the inspiration and philosopy behind this “field to face” skincare line. Below, learn about our Lavender Botanical Moisturizer and how it can transform how you think about your skin.
Where did you come up with your Lavender Botanical Moisturizer?
This moisturizer is the product that launched our journey into face care! Renowned herbalist Drea Moore visited our farmer’s market booth, delighted to find a local source for lavender hydrosol which she uses frequently in her skin care practice. After we shared some hydrosol with her, she gifted us with the most incredible moisturizer I’ve ever put on my face. It is creamy but not heavy, absorbs easily into the skin, and leaves a delicate scent of honey and lavender. I asked if she would be interested in partnering with us to make it so I could share it with our customers, and instead she generously offered to teach us. She then encouraged us to experiment to make the recipe our own. After trial and error (with Drea’s guidance), we landed on our Lavender Botanical Moisturizer.
What makes your Lavender Botanical Moisturizer special?
Our moisturizer is truly “field to face”. We infuse sunflower oil with calendula grown at the farm, beeswax from our lovingly tended honeybees, and of course, our farm grown lavender hydrosol and lavender essential oil. You won’t find a more natural moisturizer outside your own backyard.
Why is this moisturizer great for your face?
First, Lavender Hydrosol hydrate and soothes the skin, helping to balance the natural PH. Lavender Essential Oil adds anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and almond oil also helps moisturize and improve your complexion. Next, as Drea explained to us, “Nourishing, flavonoid rich Calendula resin is highly effective in treating numerous skin conditions because it is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, soothing, strengthening, and hastens healing and skin regeneration.” Finally, our farm harvested beeswax possesses a gorgeous rich, sweet aroma, and adds a lovely structure to the moisturizer. It seals moisture and the above nutrients into the skin, nourishing it with honey and propolis.
The result is our deeply nourishing, 100% natural moisturizer that feeds your skin. From our field, to your face!
Does it work on every skin type?
We do not ever test on animals (unless you count farmers) but we did do field testing with friends and family, and received unanimous thumbs up. Alas, there is no way to make a “one size fits all” moisturizer for every single skin ailment and skin type, so if you have excessively sensitive or problematic skin this may not work for you. As always, we encourage you to research the ingredients first, and if you have delicate skin, test a small area first! If that goes well, transition your face biome slowly from your current moisturizer to give it time to adjust to the new regime.
How do I use it?
After cleansing and/or toning, spritz face with Hydrating Mist and then apply moisturizer generously to the face and throat area. Spritz with Hydrating Mist again after moisturizing. For extremely dry skin, you can reapply as needed throughout the day. Use as much as desired.
*Please note that this is a natural product and some “beading” of the hydrosol may occur on the surface if the moisturizer gets cold. This does not affect the quality – you can us as-is or simply pour it off.
Our field to face moisturizer is primarily plant based (minus the beeswax) and made with natural, farm-grown ingredients.
